Country Visions Cooperative has Purchased Former Retail Building in Brillion, WI

Reedsville, WI (April 6, 2020) Country Visions Cooperative has purchased the former Shopko building located at 1010 W. Ryan Street in Brillion, WI. The building was previously leased by Shopko as a retail outlet until closing operations last spring. The site includes 5.7 acres of property and a 36,000 square foot steel building. The property drew the interest of the Cooperative’s leadership who envisioned increased opportunities with the location and a building of this size.
Country Visions’ Board of Directors and management are excited about this venture in the Brillion community. The Cooperative had operations in town years ago, under the AgriPartners name most recently and earlier as Brillion Co-op. “We had the support of the city with our business in the past, so we are excited to be in the Brillion community once again,” said President/CEO Steve Zutz. “When the opportunity presented itself with this property, we acted on it and are ready to make it happen.”
“The building has been sitting vacant for nearly a year,” stated Bill Hoeltke, VP of Energy/Retail at Country Visions, “so we are eager to get started remodeling parts of the building and bring our retail presence to the site.” Country Visions Country Stores are a retail model providing lifestyle feeds, gardening, hardware, propane and many other home and hobby farm needs. The size of the facility will allow additional warehouse space to service some of Country Visions other locations allowing them to purchase in larger quantities to offer stronger competitive pricing.
The goal is to open for business later this year, but that will depend on the availability of contractors to remodel parts of the building. Complete plans for the building are still being worked out, so no additional details are available at this time.
