The Precision Ag Journey

The Precision Ag Journey
Agriculture and technology continue to advance every year. To meet this challenge, over the last six years we have developed a Precision Ag Technology Team which has grown to over 20 members across our eight agronomy locations. We evaluate new software programs & technology, train the agronomy team, collect/analyze planting & yield data, build VR prescriptions for seeding & N/P/K, and provide support to farmers by utilizing the technology they own and services offered by Country Visions.

To improve recommendations and evaluate results, we are using EFC FieldAlytics to collect all the agronomy data layers such as field boundaries, soil fertility, planting maps, yield maps, VR prescriptions, and management zones. The goal is to manage in-field variability, realizing the full potential of every acre, and measure profitability across the farm. We are also able to bring all this information back to the farmer by providing them access to FieldAlytics improving communication and transparency.

Within the coop we are upgrading equipment with the latest technology to be more efficient, and improve the quality of applications in the field: VSN visual guidance allows us to autosteer through row crops. With Connected Workflow we can send orders and field boundaries directly into application equipment monitors. RTK capability with individual nozzle shut-off lets us drive through waterways without the need to outline them.

We realize precision ag technology on the farm is a journey and not a destination. As technology in agriculture continues to evolve and Country Visions progresses with it, we will continue to provide services and guidance to help you realize its potential. Our team is here to be your partner on this journey, take your first steps by contacting your agronomist today.
