Woldt Farms, LLC

Why Agriculture? “We all need it to survive,” Daryl Woldt responded. He also appreciates the tradition and lifestyle of being a farming family, but it comes down to food being a necessity and the growing demand for it worldwide.

Daryl and his wife, Amy, are the owners of Woldt Farms, LLC, near Brillion, Wisconsin in rural Calumet County. The farm is a Dairy and Cropping operation and they also do custom work. There was no question in Daryl’s mind what he was going to do when he grew up. Farming was all he ever did and it was what he wanted to do. Amy said she married into it but did develop a fondness for driving tractor and working with the cows. They are the 4th generation of Daryl’s family to farm and were hopeful that they would have children to continue the tradition. The couple was blessed with 5 daughters; Kelsey, Kayla, Kristen, Karly, and Kortney. Farming has been a way of life for the girls growing up and some of them are showing interest in taking over the operation. Their daughter, Kelsey, mentioned some of the same inspirations as her parents for why she enjoys farming. She grew up with it like her Dad did and, just like her Mom, enjoys working with the cows.

The Woldts say working as a family is very rewarding, but it takes many hands to do the work on a farm. “We are a very diversified operation,” Daryl said. “We appreciate having a lot of very good employees to help us manage the workload.” They have added custom manure hauling and manure irrigation as part of their business and have a partnership in a bagging business with Mark Wittman, so there is plenty of work to keep everyone busy.

Woldt Farms, LLC is a part of the Fox River Watershed. They are members of Farm Bureau, the Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin (PDPW), and the Dairy Business Association (DBA).

On the farm, Daryl’s favorite part is caring for the crops in the fields, but he takes his talents to the “playing field” of a foosball table when it comes to his free time. He likes to play foosball, competing in local tournaments and at the Wisconsin State Championships.
