For Ryan Schneider, farming was something he always enjoyed. He had a passion for it. Ryan said, “I was about 13 years old when I decided this is for sure what I wanted to pursue as a career.” Now that his son, Matt, is 12-years-old, he knows it will be time to bring him into the farming operation soon. Schneider Farms Inc. is located near Hilbert, WI and is currently operated by Ryan and his two uncles, David and John. The roots of the farm go back to a partnership of 5 brothers, from which 3 have retired. The operation in this Calumet County community consists of Custom Heifer Raising, Steers and Grain.

Seeing crops and animals grow and all the work that goes into producing the quality products keeps the passion in this farmer. Ryan takes pride in being a farmer and overcoming the challenges brought about by each new day. Planting and harvesting crops is his favorite part of the business, so he definitely has some challenges in his days.

Farming consumes a lot of time, but Ryan is also active in community organizations. He serves on his church finance counsel and is on the Ag Department Advisory Committee for Fox Valley Technical College.
