Earl and Derek Sippel

When you decide to make a career out of farming, you know there will be a lot of hard work. Airy Point Dairy is a Dairy and Grain operation in St. Cloud, Wisconsin. Earl and Yvonne Sippel along with their son and daughter in-law, Derek and Nicole, are the owners of this Fond du lac County Farm now in its 6th generation. The Sippels face a lot of challenges between the weather, markets, and the unpredictability of everything, but being able to still enjoy something so challenging makes them proud.

Earl started milking and driving tractor at the age of 10. He has always liked farming from young on. Doing different challenges each day, is one of the reasons he still enjoys it. Earl supports agriculture in his community as a Director on the Fond du lac County Farm Bureau Board and his spare time is spent with his family and friends.

Different than his father’s beginning, Derek had thought of farming as just a job when he was younger. As he grew up, he really found a passion for it and made a career out of it. Working with the animals and being outside has become his favorite part of the business. Growing things is what farmers do, but Derek has taken that to the next level with one particular product. He grows giant pumpkins competitively! He said it is very time consuming, but last year he triumphed. Derek had the biggest pumpkin in the state of Wisconsin, weighing in at 2,047 lbs.

Thank you to the Sippels for their dedication to supply consumers with good, high quality products. We appreciate the time you took to share your farming message with us and wish success and luck to you and the future generations of Airy Point Dairy.
