Dan Natzke

When Dan Natzke was young, he knew he wanted to be a dairyman. Today, he operates Wayside Dairy, LLC of Greenleaf, WI, alongside his son, Jeremy and nephew, Paul. Dan's ancestors came to the area in 1863 and started the farm that now includes the 5th generation of the family.  

As a farmer, Dan loves to watch the crops grow, then harvested, utilized as feed, and be able to see the results in their cows performance. The favorite part of his job, though, is that he is able to work alongside his family. "Passing the traditions and knowledge from generation to generation," Dan says, "it's the perfect place to raise my kids and grandkids." Outside of farming, Dan loves to be involved with the church, in fact, he has lead a mission trip to the Dominican Republic for the past 12 years.  

Regarding the future of Agriculture, Dan says, "it has become so diverse, that there is an opportunity for everyone. Just like any other business, if the operation is run correctly it will be successful. Agriculture is a strong positive presence in a small community."
