Ryan-Vu Dairy

Mark and Mary Ryan farm alongside their son, Chad, and daughter in-law, Amy, at Ryan-Vu Dairy in Byron, WI. The Town of Byron is in Fond du Lac County and is mainly agriculture land where many Dairy farms are located. Mark had been raised on a farm and wanted to continue that tradition with his family. In the mid-seventies, when Mark and Mary were starting off as a young family in agriculture, they rented a farm. Unfortunately, after a year, the barn burned down. That wasn’t enough to discourage them from farming and that’s when they bought the farm they are at today.

Now operating as a Dairy and Grain operation with another generation of their family, they take pride in watching their family grow up on the farm. Farming is something they have been doing all their life. They get to enjoy being their own boss and feel it has been a wonderful place to raise their children and grandchildren. Sharing the responsibilities of their operation with their son and daughter-in-law have given Mark and Mary some free time to enjoy taking the Mustang out, going to country concerts and traveling.

“Got to feed the people,” the Ryans said when asked why farming is important to their family. Watching the cows and yield continue to improve over the years has become a favorite part of the agriculture industry for them. “Since I switched to Country Visions, I have had 3 great agronomists that have been there to help guide me throughout the year,” Mark added. “They make farming even more enjoyable.”

Mark and Mary are also active participants in their rural community through their involvement in other organizations. Mark is the Vice President of the Fond du Lac County Fair Board, they belong to Farm First, National Holstein Association, Lomira FFA Alumni, and Lomira Sportsmen Club.
