If you are driving through rural Sheboygan County, not far from the Village of Cascade, WI, you just might get to see Paul’s pride and joy. That is, if you happen to see a pasture of mostly Red Angus Cattle. He grew up always wanting to raise cattle. Now, Paul and Donna Habeck are the owners of a Beef & Cash Crop Operation, so he has that opportunity. They are the 3rd generation of farmers on this property and operate as Pado Farms.
Why Agriculture? “Because it is just so much fun to do,” Paul said. He enjoys feeding cattle, making hay and seeing results from that work. The Habeck’s do something different on their farm that you don’t see everywhere. They use intensive pasture rotation for their herd of cattle. The herds graze one portion of pasture, while allowing the others to recover. The goal is to have vegetative cover over all grazed areas at all times.
Paul is a member of the Farm Bureau. As a part of the agriculture community, he shares in the message of doing his part to feed the world.
It is impressive to see how much Paul enjoys taking care of his cattle and working the land. Best wishes to Paul and Donna and the success of their farm. Thank you for your patronage at Country Visions and for sharing your ag message as this week’s Farmer Friday.
