Robinway Dairy, LLC is located near Kiel, WI. Jay and Pam Binversie are the owners of this 4th generation operation that includes Dairy Cows, Beef Cattle and Custom Heifers.
Jay’s interest in farming was encouraged by his dad when he was young. “When I was a freshman in high school, I took a couple farm tours to larger dairy operations in California with my dad and liked how the farm was operated and managed,” Jay said. It was soon after that, his dad let him grow crops and buy cattle. That interest in farming continues to evolve. Jay enjoys many aspects of having a farming operation including creating and managing projects, facing a new challenge every day, and seeing how new technology affects the dairy operation.
Robinway Dairy focuses on taking care of the environment while helping to feed the world. They go above and beyond to meet environmental regulations. They installed a Livestock Waste Removal (LWR) System. This has converted waste into over 12 million gallons of clean water and allows them to reuse water which reduces the need for pumping. The LWR System separates high phosphorous dry product out for an organic and natural product that can sell to other farms that have been tested (soil sampled) and have low spots of phosphorous. Jay is proud to see his investment grow and pay off not only for himself, but for the community, too. For instance, they reduced approximately 4,000 truckloads of liquid waste off the roads with their LWR system.
Jay said they also utilize outside resources to encourage the success of their business. They have a partnership with other dairymen in Colorado called “The Heifer Authority” to customize heifers. Their operation employs Country Visions Cooperative to do spraying, Krepline Farms LLC for their chopping, and Braun Electric is used for hauling.
High School football fans might recognize Jay as a Kiel High School Football Coach. He also plays basketball and golfs. Additionally, Jay is involved with the Dairy Business Association (DBA) and the Professional Dairy Producers (PDPW) organizations.
It is exciting to see what our customers strive to achieve with their operations. Thank you to Jay and Pam for sharing a part of their story with us for our Farmer Friday feature. We appreciate your business and wish you the best!
Farmer Friday...post #30. To show our appreciation to our producer members, Country Visions Cooperative will be giving a snapshot look of our customers and their operations in this feature each Friday.
