Rockland Dairy, LLC

FARMER FRIDAY
Jason Vorpahl is a 6th generation dairy farmer in Random Lake, Wisconsin. Growing up on the family farm with his brother, Marty, they both were involved with the daily chores and responsibilities. Jason said, “It’s what I grew up with and I knew I wanted to continue to do it.”

In recent years, adapting to the changing times for the agriculture industry, Jason, Marty, and their dad, Ron, entered into a partnership with Jeff Opitz and Steve Depies. Together, this group operates under the name of Rockland Dairy, LLC growing crops and milking their dairy herd.

Jason is very appreciative of his employees and their passion for what they do. “It is really important to me that after all the hard work put in throughout the year, they are able to see it pay off,” he said. “We are working together and providing quality products.” Raising quality forage crops contributes to the success of their dairy herd’s production. Jason added that they still incorporate green chop into their ration, which is a unique feature compared to some other operations.

When you are a farmer in Wisconsin, you usually get a little break from field work during that season that falls between Harvest and Planting. Some people don’t like to hear that “winter” word, but for Jason, the winter break means he gets a chance to kick up some white powder behind the track of his snowmobile.

Country Visions would like to thank Jason for being a member of our Cooperative and allowing us to share his story. Best wishes to you as you continue to strive for success for your dairy and everyone who is involved with the daily operation of it! Your dedication is valued.

Farmer Friday...post #44. To show our appreciation to our producer members, Country Visions Cooperative will be giving a snapshot look of our customers and their operations in this feature each Friday
