Brian Micke loves working with the cows and working with the great people within the industry. He is a dairy farmer in the rural community of Reedsville, Wisconsin. Farming alongside his parents, Richard and Nancy, they operate Micke Dairy, LLC a 5th generation dairy farm in Manitowoc County. All Brian has ever wanted to do was be a farmer. He used to skip naps to come out to the farm and help out as a young kid. Brian’s enthusiasm for what he does might be an inspiration to another generation of the Micke family. His 9-year-old son, Cole, has said that he would like to farm when he grows up, too. “We focus strictly on the cows,” Brian said. They have custom field work done so they can give the cows 100%. His pride comes from being able to contribute to feeding the world; contributing to the making of cheese, ice cream and butter, some of people’s favorites! “Agriculture is so important,” Brian said, “we are producing products that are staples to people’s diets and have so many health benefits.” Brian serves on the DFA (Dairy Farmers of America) counsel. Other interests of this dairy farmer include riding his motorcycle and cheering on the green and gold as a fan of the Packers. June is celebrated as Dairy Month in Wisconsin, so thank you to Brian Micke for sharing a part of the story of Micke Dairy with us this week for our Farmer Friday. We wish continued success for the future of your operation. Farmer Friday...post #24. To show our appreciation to our producer members, Country Visions Cooperative will be giving a snapshot look of our customers and their operations in this feature each Friday.
