Tanner Hanson has been showing swine the whole 7 years that he has been involved in Brillion FFA Chapter and the New Horizons 4-H club. This year’s pig he named Norman and his brother is showing Nobby. He has been involved in a number of other projects in the past, including dairy, wood working, building, metal work, and even entered a pie for a baking project.
One way to tell if a cow will be an exceptional show project is if she’s outstanding in her field! Parker & Kyra Glander have been working hard with their exceptional dairy animals along with various other fair projects including poultry, wood working, crops, arts & crafts, and photography. Parker has been showing dairy for 7 years. This year he will be bringing his cow named Danica, which he describes as being spunky and a good challenge.
Tyler Schmidt might be able to help you out with that question, with being involved in the swine project for 9 years. Along with the swine project, he has been involved in dairy, wood working, archery, arts & crafts, and baking projects. His market hog this year is named Tub. “He is a very shy pig,” Tyler said, “but when it comes to new adventures, he is up for anything.”
Alex Gruber is EGGxcited to show off his meat poultry and goat projects this year at the Calumet County Fair. He has been involved in both these projects for 3 years and his 4-H club, the Chilton Tip Top 4-H Club of Calumet County 4-H, for 4.
Hold your horses and check out Branda Brusse from the Sheboygan County Hingham Handy Helpers 4-H club. Her love for animals along with motivation from her sister assisted in getting her involved in the Horseless Horse Groom/Coach program (HHG) a year ago. She has also been involved in the Goat, Rabbit, Foods and Nutrition, and Celebrate the Arts projects.
Eva, Sarah, & Alexa Fleegal have been ‘wooling’ the fair for the three years that they have been involved in the sheep project. Their favorite part of this project is watching them grow and develop from the cute little lambs to the market lambs that are seen at the fair. According to Eva, her lamb, Francisco, is the food hog out of the bunch.
No more stalling! It’s almost time for the mane event! Maggie, Becky, and Amy Hoffmann have all been working hard on their horse & pony projects for this year’s Ozaukee County Fair. In addition to the horse projects the girls have in common, Maggie has projects for scrapbooking, photography, and home environment.
Carly Meinert is excited for her 5th year of showing poultry at the Fond du Lac County Fair. She will compete in the Chicken, Meat Chicken and Duck classes as part of the Taft 23 4-H Club of Fond du Lac County. Carly joined the 4-H Club 12 years ago wanting to do some of the same fun activities her sisters were doing as part of the Club.
Meet Brooke and Morgan Cooper along with their dairy goats, Clover and Lyla, of Fond du Lac County! Brooke and Morgan are members of the Forest Hills 4-H Club and the Campbellsport FFA Chapter. Not only do these two show dairy goats, but they also participate in the market goat and dairy cattle projects.
Have you ever seen a pig take a bath? That is Brittany Reilly’s favorite part of her and her sister, Jamie’s swine project. They have been involved for several years in Fond du Lac County 4-H Wonder Worker Club, Brittany for 3 years and Jamie for 6 years. Their older sisters were the motivators to getting them involved with 4-H and show projects.
