Shamdale Farm LLC

Larry and Elise Shambeau feel very fortunate that they were able to raise their children on a farm. "It has been a good life for us," Larry said. They have enjoyed the benefits of spending time together while also developing a strong work ethic in their children. Larry is the 5th generation of his family to be a part of this farm, which was started in 1863 during the period of the American Civil War. A celebration was held to recognize the milestone of 150 years and brought everyone together to support the heritage of their dairy operation.

Shamdale Farm, LLC is a Dairy Farm located in Two Rivers, WI. Larry got started in the operation after attending the Short Course program in Madison. He came out of the program with a desire to work with registered cattle and his Dad offered him an opportunity to partner. They have been able to market their cattle with young stock and replacements and strive to always have quality breeding stock to sell to other farmers throughout the year.

Larry likes the challenge of agriculture and the way things change. He is excited by the opportunities that are possible with modern technology. "I enjoy working with the cattle," he stated. "There is self-satisfaction in producing a product you are proud of."

Self-employment for the Shambeaus allows for the opportunity of some free-time to get-a-way to their cottage or play a round of golf. They also get involved with activities at their church, St John's in Two Rivers, and they are members of their local Kiwanis Club.

Thank you to Larry and Elise for participating in our Farmer Friday story. The long history of this family farm's existence is outstanding. We wish them success as they carry on the legacy. Best wishes to the Shambeau family and Shamdale Farm!
