Richard, Tom and Joe Heyroth

Bring Richard, Tom and Joe Heyroth together to talk about their farming operation and you just might learn some lessons about Wisconsin history, too. The farm was established in 1848, the same year Wisconsin became a state. Early settlers had actually been farming the land before that, but you couldn’t “own” the land until it became an official state.

The Heyroth’s farm together under the name Schoner Hugel Farms, LLC. The name is German for ‘Beautiful Hill’ giving a wonderful image of what you see when you look out over the acres of cropland. This dairy and cash crop operation is located in Mishicot, WI, in northeastern Manitowoc County.

When you can say that the favorite part of your job is a sense of accomplishment, you are doing something that you truly enjoy. This is evidenced in their answer to the question about what hobbies they have outside of agriculture. The response was… “Agriculture is my hobby.”

Thank you to Richard, Tom, and Joe for participating in Farmer Friday and being a member of our Cooperative! We wish you continued success!

Farmer Friday...post #9. To show our appreciation to our producer members, Country Visions Cooperative will be giving a snapshot look of our customers and their operations in this feature each Friday.
