Donald & Clara Buckman

Farming is all about family for Donald and Clara Buckman. They are Dairy Farmers in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin. The operation is a 100% family run farm with the help of their children Becky Glander, Mark Buckman, and Missy Buckman. They also have 4 grandchildren, who they say have taken to farming like “magnets”. “They come out every chance they can get,” Donald said. “One of the grandchildren even comes out every day to work on the farm.”

Donald isn’t completely surprised that the grandchildren enjoy coming to the farm, he realized his passion for it at a young age, too. “I was born in Plymouth,” he said. “I remember when I was 6 years old, my grandpa brought me out here every day. It never ended. My time has always been spent on this farm.”

Donald considers farming his job and his hobby. He likes it all, from the cows to the crop work. It is their living and it has been that way forever. He is proud to be a 5th generation farmer where he gets to watch their children and grandchildren grow up and build a strong work ethic. How does Donald feel about working with family? “It is great,” he responded. “We love it! Working with the three generations is hard to beat.”

Donald is involved with the Sheboygan Falls FFA Alumni. At one time, he served as a director for the Sheboygan Falls Co-op that became Kettle Lakes Co-op, and is now Country Visions.
