Albright Farms

Albright Farms of Ripon, Wisconsin is a Cash Grain operation located in Green Lake County. The home farm has been in the family for over 140 years and is currently in the hands of Dave Albright. His dad, Wayne, still likes to be involved in the daily business and help out but is actually retired from the operation.

“My dad and a neighbor purchased equipment together,” Dave said. “We used the same equipment for both farms.” That was the start of a plan that they would build on. He attended college for a few years and it was then that a friend approached Dave about being partners with him and his dad. They figured the partners could all have their individual farms that they run, but they all would work together, too. Sharing the expenses of large equipment as a partnership would benefit the farmers by reducing their individual costs. Dave and his farm are part of a partnership, called Explorer Enterprises. “We all work together on our separate operations and on land owned by our Explorer members.”

Dave enjoys working land and doesn’t want to see it taken over for urban development. “I have grown up on the farm,” he said. “I want to protect the agricultural land for the production of food and fuel for the world.” Dave looks forward to harvest season to see the results of his dedication and hard work. “Harvest is that time of year that you have worked all season for.”

The Albrights are active members of their church, Grace Lutheran in Ripon. Dave is on the Board of the Ripon FFA Alumni organization and does wood-working projects as a hobby.

Thank you to Dave Albright for being our Farmer Friday this week! A farming family with such a long history is quite outstanding. We wish you, your family and your operation much success for a future of astounding harvests!
